Ian
graduated from Strathclyde University with an MSc in Marine Technology
and has recently undertaken an MBA at Robert Gordon's University.
He has over 20 years experience in the oil and gas sector, having
worked for equipment manufacturers, contractors and operators; including
Vetco, Coflexip, BP and Lasmo. His field development experience
includes subsea and deep water fields in the North Sea, Norway,
the Far East and Brazil. This specialised experience of subsea facilities
encompasses project management, specification, design, installation,
commissioning and operation. The project management and project
engineering roles included two significant innovations in subsea
controls and in deepwater pipelines which are now the de facto standard
for these operations.
As Vice President, Ian is responsible for overseeing the strategic
development of DES Operations.
When not working, Ian spends his time with the family; Ann, Jenny
and Andrew.
Gavin
graduated from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with an MSc
in Offshore Engineering in 1996, having previously worked within
the Oil & Gas industry since 1990. Gavin experience since graduating
has been primarily with the subsea flowline and manifold systems,
managing such projects as Statoil Gulfaks Phases 1 & 2 and the
more recently as Construction Manager with Subsea 7 on the Venture
Sycamore Project.
At DES, Gavin will be responsible for delivering Interface Management
for projects in Gulf Of Mexico.
Steve
began his career in the subsea sector with ABB Vetco Gray in 1990.
He served his technical apprenticeship in Montrose, Scotland, where
he worked as a senior technician for 7 years. Recent appointments
include Subsea Supervisor and Subsea Projects Engineer with Venture
Petroleum.
At DES, Steve is our Aberdeen Operations Manager, overseeing to the interface
of MARS technologies with existing subsea facilities.
When not at work, Steve can be found with his wife Michelle and
kids Bryce and Jack. His main interests include iron man training
and model making.
Carolyn
graduated from the William Ramsay Technical Institute in 1984. With
over 15 years experience of managing offices for young dynamic companies,
her expertise lies in customer interfacing, technology and organisation.
Having previously worked for growing businesses in the recruitment,
technology and engineering sectors. Carolyn is responsible for the
management of all facilities and administration within DES as well
as working closely with the project teams.
